Who?  Khun Moo, Co-Owner and Managing Director of The Slate Hotel

As the daughter of legendary hotelier Wichit na Ranong, who is known as Phuket’s ‘Father of Tourism’, Khun Moo was born into a family of discerning hospitality professionals. As a result, she developed a passion for the industry at a young age, which inspired her to study hotel management at École Hôtelière de Lausanne in Switzerland. She then furthered her experience in luxury hospitality with a stint at the InterContinental hotel in Paris and Four Seasons hotel in Bangkok, before forming a partnership with her father to run The Slate in Phuket.

Khun Moo shared more about her experience in hospitality, travel and style as well as her personal tips for juggling business and family with LadyBoss.

I truly believe that you can never be complacent in the hospitality industry. As much as you may love your product and brand, you need to always believe you can be doing better to enhance the guest experience.

Who? Khai Lun Chua, Co-Founder & CFO of Fundnel

Started out her career in banking and private investments with firms such as J.P. Morgan, Citibank, and CIMB-GK Securities, Khai Lin Chua saw the opportunity to tackle private investments in Singapore and she aims to push for change in the very rigid private investment industry.

We are currently stocked in more than 400 stores globally, with approximately 70% of the business we do, from the US.

Who? Ifeoma Ubby, Founder of Oliveankara

Ifeoma Ubby (you can call her Ify), the founder of OliveAnkara, wasn’t born an aspiring designer. Born and raised in Italy, she grew in love with African fabric that catapulted her entrepreneurship journey. As a teenager she would almost always step out with an African skirt or a head wrap, often both.

OliveAnkara hopes to inspire you to take on the world with their bold traditional African motifs paying homage to your individuality and unique style, ultimately embracing confidence. From head wraps to jumpsuits, the pieces are designed suitable for any occasion.

Who? Angjolie Mei, Founder and  MD of The Life Celebrant

As life celebrants, they strive to celebrate and commemorate how you lived and leave your life, by providing customised and meaningful funeral planning and preplanning services for individuals and families, and to do so with thoughtfulness, integrity and compassion.

The Life Celebrant started in 2010 and since grown to become an industry leader in providing bereavement services in Singapore. But the road to success for Angjolie was challenging, she had to learn the basics behind of the funeral industry after the passing of her father. LadyBoss caught up with Angjolie Mei of The Life Celebrant!

I had to learn everything from scratch, I will shadow the funeral team in everything they did, going to the mortuary to claim the deceased’s bodies, even in the middle of the night, observing embalming process, carrying caskets and so forth.

Who? Rhonda Wong, Co-Founder and CEO of OhMyHome

Rhonda Wong is the co-founder of Ohmyhome and serves as the Chief Executive Officer since its founding in 2015. Rhonda’s know-how in the real estate sector brought to light the various issues home seekers face.

Responsible for the overall management of the startup, Rhonda sets the culture of Ohmyhome revolving around empowering the HDB community to take care of their housing decisions by offering an honest, easy and free platform for HDB leases and resale transaction. Hence, she believes that a love for the local community is key to being part of the Ohmyhome team.

They (users) also didn’t believe that if they wanted an agent to serve them, we only charge a flat fee of $2,888. Because we are a first in our industry, it took us some time to convince and educate people that we are here to help make lives simpler
