Brunch café by day and restaurant bar by night. Rookery is nestled in the heart of the CBD and inspired by the Australian and American casual dining culture.
The Rookery refers to a gathering of seals, penguin or crows. So why did Daniel Ong (former radio DJ / Co-Founder of Twelve Cupcakes) and his business partners decide to name it such?
Well, it turns out that the philosophy behind Rookery is that this cafe/bar should be a gathering of individuals indulging in good times over simple good food.
Daniel Ong together with his business partners, expanded Rookery restaurant operations with the opening of its second outlet at Capital Tower, Tanjong Pagar. The new branch boasts of a larger space with seating capacity of 100 persons. Its menu offerings will be similar to Rookery at Hong Leong Building, with the exception of daily specials unique to the Capital Tower outlet.
Rookery presents a unique dining experience with emphasis on the raw rustic nature of locally sourced ingredients
Here are some highlights of the Capital Tower outlet:
#1 – The Australian and American dining experience
Inspired by the Australian and American casual dining culture and the creativity of new age cooking techniques with the finest produce and edgy presentation, Rookery presents a unique dining experience with emphasis on the raw rustic nature of locally sourced ingredients.
We spotted this Smoked Salmon Wrap and couldn’t resist trying it. If you’re in for some generous portions of smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, avocado slices and dill cream cheese spread – you’re in for a treat!
Craft beer enthusiasts can look forward to Brewlander, stocked at Rookery
#2: A great place to catch-up with your girlfriends over coffee, wine and craft beer
The Capital Tower outlet features a few collaborations, such as with Sarnies Coffee and Wine Clique. Sarnies Coffee, a micro-roastery based in Singapore, has signed on to bring specialty beans roasted in-house to Rookery customers.
Rookery has teamed up with Wine Clique for a full range of competitively priced wines to be made available in the restaurant. Customers are spoiled for choice, as there are over 200 labels. Wines can be bought home or enjoyed in restaurant for a minimal corkage fee. Wine lovers are in for a treat as two specific platters exclusive to the Capital Tower outlet- the Cured Meat Platter and the Cheese Platter have been created for customers to complement their wines with.
Craft beer enthusiasts can try out Brewlander, Daniel Ong’s latest brainchild, being stocked at The Rookery as well.
Other brands awaiting to quench your thirst include: Asahi, Asahi Black, Connors, Kronenbourg Blanc, Carlsberg or Brewlander — all at $9.90 a pint.
